Hey, I'm Joe! 👋 I started Kindful back in 2021 after swapping a career in accountancy for something a little more creative, and I haven't looked back since! I'm a massive people person, love a good idea and get ridiculously excited about the opportunities that come from bringing brilliant people together. These days, I spend most of my time growing Kindful, building relationships and dreaming up what we can do next. I'm incredibly proud of the team we've built and the work we're producing for some pretty amazing brands. For me, it's always been about doing great work, working with good people and having a bloody good time along the way!

My love for cinema began the moment I watched Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey projected in glorious 70mm film. Safe to say, I've never looked at a screen the same way since. That experience sparked a passion for visual storytelling that led me to study Film Production, specialising in Cinematography, and eventually have one of my short films selected for the Purbeck Film Festival. For me, filmmaking is about more than creating beautiful images. It's about emotion, atmosphere, and telling stories without saying a word. If something I've created can make someone feel something, then I've done my job right. Whether I'm behind the camera, obsessing over a perfectly composed shot, or sharing my love for all things cinema on social media, I'm pretty much always thinking about movies.

Hi, I'm Ricky! I'm a filmmaker who's been editing for 12 years. It all started at college, where my friends and I wrote, directed and edited our own films. I loved it so much that in 2015 I took a residential course at the National Film and Television School and turned editing into my career. Since then, I've worked on all sorts of projects, from live-action to VFX to animation. Now I'm at Kindful Creative, helping brands and businesses tell their stories, with a talented and friendly team who make every project better. Outside of editing, I like to write feature films and Dungeons & Dragons adventures with my friends. And when I need to switch off, you'll usually find me boxing or lifting weights. My favourite project at Kindful has to be The Fight, a boxing short film we made for Face Equality International, starring Adam Pearson. It was an awareness campaign supporting people with facial differences and disfigurements, and I'm really proud to have been part of it. Favourite films in no particular order? The Lord of the Rings, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Dark Knight and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

I began in audio and podcasting at 12, writing solo piano pieces which the other kids would go away to learn. At that moment I thought “there must be something in this” and “this is pretty cool”. One thing led to another and I started recording my own songs. I distributed CDs round to kids at school and got a mixture of praise, feedback and bullying. As a kid playing music in the internet age, I learned to film stuff so that I could make music videos, which I absolutely loved. Through music, I learned to record audio and film video professionally and my DIY attitude landed me a job with Sony Music in 2021 - recording audio & video for their podcasts, and doing sound design and music for ads. My love for sound and music has never waned, writing music for the Leipzig Ballet in 2023, a Requiem in 2025, and for films and ads over the course of the last 5 years, including an indie song in an indie film; it’s safe to say I have kept my hand in. I’ve learned to love the creative process and enjoy the whole journey of bringing media to life, from set design, camera angles to lighting. Whether on set, or in the edit, I can usually be found perfecting some minor detail of a production to make sure your piece of content moves you.
